and Color in the Atmosphere by Kenneth Heuer, 1978, p 73.:

"When the droplets are extraordinarily small, as they
must become in slowly evaporating thin clouds, the
clouds may develop many iridescent borders and
patches of irregular shape at distances from the sun
up to 30 degrees or more...On one occasion,
iridescence was observed on the artificial clouds
produced by an airplane writing advertisements in the sky!"
